Jersey Prints Application Instructions
Iron-On Jersey Print Application
Your jersey needs to be clean and dry before applying the prints to guarantee adhesion.
If it's a new jersey, it is important to first wash it before applying prints, as they can bleed excess ink on the first wash, damaging your new print.
APPLICATION:
1. Lay your Jersey flat on the bed or a flat surface.
2. Peel the backing from the jersey print, leaving the print itself on the clear transfer layer.
3. Place print on the jersey. The transfer layer is slightly sticky, which will help keeping the print in place while heating - you can reposition the print as desired before heating as the transfer layer is not too sticky.
4. Using a heat press at 130-150C degrees (265-300F) and medium pressure, heat the print for around 20 seconds.
If you don't have a press, use baking paper on top of the transfer paper an turn your iron to full heat. Using hard pressure, move around the whole print until you see the print settle into the jersey. (30-45 seconds)
5. While it is still warm, slowly peel off the transfer layer. If the print is not fully applied to the jersey, place the transfer layer back down and re-heat.
6. Once the transfer layer has been removed, place the baking paper over the print, and re-heat for 10-15 seconds.
NOTE: Do not apply direct heat to the jersey or the print with the iron as it will melt the fabric or the print.
NOTES:
- If at any point, the print is lifting, use baking paper, and re-heat for 10-15 seconds.
- If the print becomes crinkled after washing, re-heating with baking paper will make it smooth again.
